This is one of those days when I’m prompted to marvel at the things that human beings have created as do’s and don’ts in our society. For example, the idea that we need a salad fork and a dessert fork and special utensils for different parts of a meal is bizarre in this day and age, yet some people still abide by this nonsense. In some belief systems, people believe that it’s best to eat directly from your hands. All of these things are just an expanded version of man-made situations, similar to when children have a tree house and they create a password that you need to know in order to enter. Knowing the “rules” about what’s what to use at the table (or floor mat, or wherever one sits) is just another form of judgment. What goes through your mind when you think about which fork you have to pick up when you’re seated at a “fancy” dinner? Many of us would be thinking about the judgment of people who “know” which fork to pick up. You consciously choose to use a certain fork so that you’ll be accepted by the others in the group. In reality, we have been taught to place importance on it, often dismissing the fact that there are others who have never seen a fork much less know which one to use. They can still eat and still nourish themselves. These souls are able to do so without considering what others think about how they get that food into their mouth! Our concerns would be better placed in seeing to it that everyone has food to eat. Those of us who have food could place more of our thoughts in gratitude than in thinking about the acceptance of others as to how we lift food from our plates. It is more important that we all HAVE healthy food. In addition, it is important to nourish ourselves with foods that emit the highest possible frequencies. It’s important to avoid processed foods, meats and diary. Taking in animal products that put second hand antibiotics into your digestive system is a recipe for illness. So let’s focus on the important things like helping people to have sufficient healthy food and safe affordable housing. Eating right also allows you to better connect with your intuition. The gut-brain connection is a key component in a clear channel to the divine. I “don’t give a fork” about a bunch of stupid, unnecessary cutlery rules created in a bygone era, that presently serve no purpose other than to have a twisted version of the password to the treehouse. I belong to “Club I Don’t Give A Fork” and all you need to be a member is common sense, compassion and the desire to make your life and the world a better place.
