Why is it Important to Understand Your Natural Spiritual Gifts?

Many people have struggled with the knowledge and acceptance of spiritual gifts. Some people question whether or not to use them but it's my belief that we were given these gifts for a reason. The other senses in our body are not questioned. If it's our sense of sight, sense of smell, sense of taste, or sense of hearing, for instance. All of those are amazing things that our bodies can do. So why I ask you, do people question using one of our other natural gifts that we are born with? Some people are born with a natural affinity for intuition but its part of everyone's physical makeup to be able to do these things. Anyone who is so inclined or has gifts in this area should absolutely use them and definitely not waste them.
When we were young, we were taught that our bodies have only 5 senses. Some children experience their psychic abilities at a very early age but unless they are lucky enough to have an enlightened adult to guide them, it can be a difficult journey away from their gifts and back again. For many of us, it isn't until later in life that we begin to learn about (and embrace) the 6th sense. That is not to say that perhaps there isn't an 7th, 8th or 9th... but for now we will deal with the 6th.
